Woo, September show is OVER! End of another FFDT year, 6th to be exact.
It was actually pretty good, got a little injured again, but atleast I wasn't concussion-ized like last year :)
A bunch of other people got hurt too after we rehearsed one of our dances that involve glasses (drinking glasses not reading glasses) and my friend shattered her glass on the floor.
THEN we were forced to use stupid PLASTIC cups by the Living Arts staff.
A bunch of us mished TWICE to Square One to find a bunch of ERK-y looking glasses.
WORST IDEA EVER! Plastic cups DO NOT match up to the weight and feel of glasses.
ANYWAYS, this is how it went down during the REAL show:
About 20 seconds into the part where we put the cups on our head one cup falls off.
Then that just triggered it all: then another, then another.
Mine just kept wobbling about on my head and I went all jelloid neck trying to not make it fall off, and kinda gave in and thought:
if everyone elses fell off then I shouldn't feel bad if mine fell off.
So I let it go.
Then during the other dance with the glasses, I totally screwed that one up because the cups were too tall so I ended up spilling coke ALL over myself, thus, making the floor SLIPPERY so when the intense spinning ending came around my head cup was AGAIN WOBBLING LIKE A MAD PERSON, AS I was tripping on my FOREVER long dress and SLIPPING ON THE POND OF COKE I JUST CREATED AROUND MY SELF. -_-

The Beginning After the End.

So, as of this Tuesday, I am again, brotherless. Moving day already?!
Going to IKEA on Monday with him to check out some chairs.
Yes, my moving present will be a SWIVEL chair with armrests.
Jeebus, so demanding :) haha.
But, I'm mainly going to IKEA for the $1 breakfast. Hellllz yeah.

I'm gonna be like, super cheese and say: We grew up so fast.

UP YOURS, BULK BARN!

YEEEUP! Ara, Chia and I decided to do some baking and WHAT a mission it was.

Let's just say we DIDN'T do anything illegal and that everything turned out as planned :)

We decided to do the "Cake-Burger" as seen from Bakerella:

Everything we used was "ready-made" and store bought, so you could imagine how amazingly easy it was.

What you need:

1 box of yellow cake mix + it's additives (ie., 3 eggs, 1/3 cup oil, etc.)

1 box of brownie mix + it's additives

1 can of white frosting or vanilla frosting

green and red food colouring

circle cookie cutter

cupcake cups
Bake the yellow cake mix into cupcakes as opposed to cakes. Use an ice cream scoop to get the batter into the cups. Chia actually made it look SO easy :SBake the cupcakes as directed. If the bottoms come out a little burnt. That is okay :) After you bake the cupcakes, start the brownie batter by following the directions on the box. Bake the brownies in a regular square or rectangular pan. As you bake the brownies, DO NOT touch the cupcakes. Wait for them to cool before unwrapping them.

LOL, this is how Chia bakes. she rolls the egg yolk in the mix. LOL. Yeeeah, that dusty blob is actually an egg yolk :/

As the brownies bake and the cupcakes continue to cool, you can start making the "ketchup" and "lettuce" of our burgers.

You can do this by adding green food colouring to plain white frosting...
...and by adding red food colouring to plain white frosting.
When each colour is mixed in, transfer the two different frostings into a ziploc bag.

After the cupcakes cool you have to cut off any of the burnt bottoms, as well as cut the cupcakes in half.

This is Ara's burnt cupcake bottom stack. YEEEAH...they were pretty burnt.

After the brownies finish baking and they finish cooling, cut them into circles using a cookie cutter.

Chia's such a proskillet:)

After everything is cut, it's time for assembly. Place the brownie in between the cupcake halves.

...If you haven't realized it yet, the brownie is the burger patty, and the cupcakes are the buns.

After, use the frosting filled ziploc bags as piping bags and pipe some lettuce and ketchup onto the patty.

Put it all together and you get something like this:
Sorry, Ara is not included with the cake-burger.

Oh, and neither is grandma :)

...We then ended with a photoshoot and some yummy pasta dinner. We're lame because it took us more than 10 pictures to get this...and because we fail at 2 second timers.

All in all it was a great night and it was cool seeing my cousins again :D

Let's Talk Hair.

SOOOOOOO I'm in dire need of a hair cut since it takes me like 10 minutes JUST to shampoo my hair (and that' on a regular day, imagine how long it takes after a dance performance-_-)

This is what I'm saying :

Straight bangs to go with my long not-so-luscious hair. LOL.

...and, it might possibly look good with a fedora......if i ever plan on something like that (Y).

ORRRRRRRRRRRRR, if I don't look so swell with the straight bangs long hair idea, I could do the straight bangs avec SHORT hair.

Or I could just go short. I DON'T KNOW! Help me out people!

Happy 18th Birthday M'Love .

My god-sister's/cousin's birthday is tomorrow, so I decided that I would surprise her with a little scrapbook/card. It's more of a scrapcard. I like that term. I think I'm gonna use it :)

So, here's a look at a few pages. Unfortunately it's STILL unfinished. It's taken me since Saturday to get this far, so. yeah. I'll make another post later to show the rest of the pages and final finishing touches.

For this scrapcard, I just found a bunch of old pictures (duplicates only so we still have an original for safe-keeping) and cut them up and basically made a mess. :) LOL. well not really, I really enjoyed looking at it and putting it together so, YES. Enough chit-chat. Let's get to it :) For this cover I took some wire (like from the previous card) and looped it twice to make sort of a branch for my flowers to sit on. The flowers are made of 4 things and all 4 things are RECYCLED!
1. Green tissue/gift-wrap paper,
2. A white flower from a broken lei I used for multi cultural day last year,
3. The centre of a "binder paper reinforcement". Yenno those circular stickers you put on the hole of your lined paper when the binder rings rip it? YEAH. RANDOM, I KNOW. But I used those things in green....cause I had them for some reason.
and,
4. A turquoise sequin I got of a bracelet. Stupid bracelet was on sale at Claire's for a dollar like 4 years ago and I kept it cause I promised myself that I wouldn't let the sequins go to waste.
HAHAHAHA yeah, little fun fact. (Y).

Anyways, after they all looked like this :) The actual size of the black card-paper was cut to a standard greeting card size, so yeah. It was a pretty small scrapcard.
After I wrote out her name that would be glued to the front of the card. Since I didn't have an X-acto knife to cut it out, I SADLY used a safety pin. It actually worked pretty well!
This is one of the pages I did. I started cutting random shapes and I ended up with this! I was cutting while watching Iron Chef America....that's probably why I have such a horrible cutting job.
For each page I drew out some patterns for the background, just so the scrapcard looks filled up and really detailed. It took a LONG time to figure each pattern out, but the Food Network kept me company and so did ex- Jon&Kate. I ♥ BIC MARKERS.
Yes. I do work on a bed. Not my bed. Goodness, I would never be caught with those sheets on my bed. But yeah this is to showcase the terrible mess I make. :)

No need to tell me, I already know I was a good-lookin' kid ;) Couldn't just have a pumpkin OR an apple. I just had to have both -_-"
I wish the pattern on this page showed a little more. It was so nice and clean. Especially along the bottom of the page.

Those are pretty much all I have done, and her birthday's tomorrow. GREEEEEEEATTTTTT. But like I said, I'll post the rest when I finally finish the whole thing and wrap it up :)

The Real World: Cancun.

Apparently I Don't Buy Cards Anymore.

Recently I've gone DIY Card CRAZZZZZYYYYYYYY.

I don't even know why. It's like this is what I'm gonna be doing for the rest of my summer.

Oh well, atleast I have a hobby.

Anyways, Laraine's birthday is today, so I made her a card last night. :)

Really simple, it took me like 3 minutes to come up with this and put it all together.
The wire took a couple minutes, but putting it together was super easy.

First, cut some tissue paper into 1.5cm strips. (I eyeballed it and didn't bother using a ruler.)

Next, take some wire and make two leaves. Use pliers to help create the shape, and to twist the ends together.

The thing that makes this pretty is the flower. READY MADE! Gah, I love Michael's. Found these in the clearance aisle for $1.50:) Really really nifty.

Glue the tissue paper overlapping with a gluestick. Next glue the wire on with a glue gun. The wires are gonna make the flower pop up from the paper so don't worry if the wire isn't glued flat on the card. Next glue the flower on top of the wire. Use the glue gun for this so that it sticks to the wire a whole lot better than with a glue stick.

And voila! A simple yet really pretty card all for under 5 bucks :)
